The Cinnamon Bear: Chapter 7

It’s another adventure with The Cinnamon Bear!  Last time, the Wailing Whale explained in song why it enjoys ill health. And Crazy Quilt hit on the idea of tickling the polka-dotted Wesley until he coughs up the star. Did it work?

Today: Chapter 7: Presto, The Magician

In this chapter, Crazy Quilt swims our friends to show to dry out. They meet an incompetent magician, Mr. Presto, who, in demonstrating his magical prowess, mistakenly pulls Penelope from his hat. The angry bird complains that when the magician so rudely summoned her she dropped the star while flying over the Island of Obi. The group looks along the shore for a boat to take them to Obi. They discover, instead, a treasure chest and, moments later, they are surrounded by a band of Pirates.

The Cinnamon Bear: Chapter 6

It’s another Chapter of The Cinnamon Bear for you and your family to enjoy!

A 1937 newspaper ad in the Portland, Oregon Journal read:

Introducing Paddy O’Cinnamon, Santa Claus’s right-hand man! Meet him with Santa in Toyland at Lipman’s… and don’t miss his exciting adventures with Judy and Jimmy (two of the nicest playmates you could want!) over the air every night but Saturday! Early-to-bedders can listen at 6 and stay-up-laters at 7… and some nights you’ll be so anxious to hear how they got the Silver Star back from the wicked Crazyquilt Dragon that you’ll listen twice! And here’s a secret… the Cinnamon Bear is just as excited about meeting you as he can be.

Today: Chapter 6: Sammy Seal

The Wailing Whale explains in song why it enjoys ill health. Crazy Quilt hits on the idea of tickling the polka-dotted Wesley until he coughs up the star. It works, but the star is, in turn, caught by Samuel the Performing Seal, who insists on juggling it on his nose. One final toss of the star into the air, however, attracts Penelope the Pelican, who catches the shiny bit in her beak and flies off.

The Cinnamon Bear: Chapter 5

Sorry, just a little behind on these chapters. I’ll be putting them on a schedule today. :-D

Sharing things such as listening regularly to the Cinnamon Bear makes great Christmas family traditions. For years, our family tradition has been for my husband to read The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe to our children. This year is no different. They are enjoying it once again. And we’ve added The Cinnamon Bear as another family tradition. It makes Christmas more memorable and special every year.

Today: Chapter 5: Weasley, The Wailing Whale

The execution is delayed when it’s discovered that the Royal Executioner is off for the day and his assistant can’t recall the exact wording of the ceremony. While the Inkaboos debate what to do, Crazy Quilt returns with the Scissors Soldiers who engage them in battle. In the turmoil, our group escape on the back of the dragon, who swims out to sea and safety. Judy spots the Silver Star floating on the surface of the water, but before they can recover it, the ornament is swallowed by Wesley the Wailing Whale.

The Cinnamon Bear: Chapter 4

It’s time for the next episode of The Cinnamon Bear!

I sure hope you are enjoying these classic stories.  It’s nice to hear something decent for for both children and adults at Christmas time!  So grab the kids, some nice hot chocolate, and settle down for this next installment.

Today:  Chapter 4: The Inkaboos

Jimmy, Judy, Paddy, and Crazy are approached by a most peculiar group of people. They are the Inkaboos, the blotter people who are a bit touchy about their boundary lines. After a brief struggle, Crazy Quilt escapes but our three friends are made prisoners. They are taken before King Blotto and charged with trespassing, the penalty for which is to be thrown into the Immense Inkwell.
