There is a lot of special meaning to it. We also wanted to do something different in celebrating Christmas for the very same reasons. Christmas had lost a lot of its focus even though we tried to center everything around Our Lord. So we tried something different. We try to celebrate "Christmas" the weekend after Thanksgiving. We decorate and than give gifts to one another in thankfulness. Christmas eve we then give the kids a new Bible, Bible book cover and some neat highlighters,devotional book, or Bible based game and if left us free to focus on the specialness of the Lord's Birthday.
